Canterbury Area Member Panel calls for

Management Plan for Kingsmead Field

At its meeting on 15 September, Canterbury Area Member Panel (composed of Canterbury city councillors) discussed the damage which past events have caused to Kingsmead Field.

Following this discussion, a recommendation was passed unanimously calling on the Council Executive to work together with residents to produce a management plan for Kingsmead Field.  Two further recommendations were adopted calling on the Executive to:

1)     Ensure that all events held on the field are properly supervised and that the deposit is forfeited if damage occurs.

2)     Undertake an investigation into the designation of a proper events site for the district.
